FOOTHILLS COLTS 2008 BMO NATIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONS UPDATED December 13, 2008

Congratulations Foothills Colts GU18 BMO National Club Champions.

Monday, October 13, 2008 - the Calgary Foothills Colts won gold at the Girls Under 18 BMO National Club Championships by defeating BC 4-0 in the title game.
This amazing group of young ladies completed their quest for back to back national championships in two different age groups after winning the Girls U16 Club Championship in 2007. In achieving this unprecedented achievement the Colts did not allow a goal in 5 games outscoring their opposition by 23 goals. During the past week, the Colts the Alberta representative at the Nationals defeated Saskatchewan 5-0, Nova Scotia 6-0, Ontario 3-0, Newfoundland 5-0 and finally BC 4-0 in today's championship game. Chelsie Oddan was named tournament MVP and Courtney Merkle was named Keeper of the Tournament. Congratulations to the players and coaches Kennedy, Hamilton, Wheeldon Jr. and Hapgood for a job well done. You are the pride of Foothills and an inspiration to our club and its members. Thank you to the parents of this team who have supported this team throughout their youth soccer careers and especially to Wes Oddan, their long standing super efficient Manager. Thanks also to former coach Troye Flannery for all his past efforts with this team.
